Aviation Weather Display
An embedded weather terminal that reads live METAR reports and shows the flight category for a set of airports at a glance.
I am an electrical engineering student at the University of Illinois. I build embedded hardware and write the firmware that runs on it.
Right now that means an ESP32 weather terminal for pilots and a vending machine controller built out of NAND gates. I am looking for an internship in embedded systems and firmware, or in FPGA and ASIC design.
An embedded weather terminal that reads live METAR reports and shows the flight category for a set of airports at a glance.
An eight state finite state machine for a vending machine controller, restricted to NAND, NOR, and NOT gates, taken from K-maps through simulation to wired hardware.
I am a student pilot working toward a private certificate, which is where the weather display came from. I check field conditions before I fly, and I wanted them on a screen on my desk instead of buried in an app.
